Responsible for providing both software and hardware related IT support services, either on site or remotely, depending on business needs.

Job Requirements 

We are looking for an individual that has good communication skills, a passion for service, strong interpersonal skills. 

Applicants are required to have three or more years’ experience as a desktop support technician, preferably in the hospitality or guest services industries.  Applicants should have a strong technical background, strong PC skills based on a working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and desktop applications.
 
Applicants must be South African Citizens. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary responsibilities will be to provide desktop support to both staff and hotel guests.  The candidate must be able to troubleshoot problems, including networking and Wi-Fi related issues.
  • Ensure that all service desk / helpdesk calls are responded to and completed within SLA timeframes and that support tickets are updated with detailed information.  Continuously providing feedback re any outstanding problems.
Other Duties:
  • Visit all clients as per prescribed schedule and complete site checklists & audits
  • Installation, setup and maintenance of new desktops, laptops, printers and other hardware devices.
  • Pro-actively service all workstations and network devices as per service schedules.
  • Monitor backup schedules/jobs and ensure successful backups as per the prescribed backup policy of all devices
  • Ensure all IT related issues and changes as documented.
 
Technical Experience / Requirements:
  • IT technical certifications, including A+, N+ and relevant Microsoft certification MCP/MCSE
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of PC and network fault finding
  • Strong logical reasoning
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise issues and organise workloads
  • Customer orientated, well presented and good communicator
  • Must be willing to work shifts / on-call
