Our clients, one of South Africa's leading agri-businesses, currently has a vacancy for an IT Technician at their Durbanville branch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, which will include, the company network and server infrastructure.

The main IT functions will be:

• To maintain a high degree of in-house service for all support queries and adhere to management principles.
• To take ownership of user problems, to be pro-active when dealing with user issues and to assist users to resolve hardware and software problems.
• Ensure connectivity of IT systems between Karsten farms and offices.
• To support users remotely and visit users on other sites to assist.
• Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.
• Pre-build and setup PC's/notebooks and systems where required.
• Carry out in-house system testing.
• Will be responsible for in-house system back-ups.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have an IT qualification
• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a network support professional
• Must be able to setup, support and maintain the core IT infrastructure
• Must have experience in the storage of networks, backup and data retention
• Must have ability to troubleshoot and provide recommendations for resolving technical issues
• Must have an understanding of local and remote servers
• Must have a basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
• Must have a hands on approach and a willingness to learn
• Must be able to interact with all levels of company employees
• Must have basic understanding of MySql and SQL.
