Italian Chef
Our client, an upmarket restaurant in Ballito is seeking the employment of an Italian Chef who can be responsible for excellent quality, and presentation in Italian menus and dishes.

Job Functions:
• Execute effective management of Italian dishes.
• Effectively plan and develop of Italian menus and recipes considering factors such as product availability, food and service cost, market conditions and business volume.
• Assign prices for Italian menu that result in a net profit.
• Ensure the correct preparation and presentation of Italian food items on a consistent level.
• Ensure that safety and sanitation are up to the standards. Ensure the staff adhere to and that the kitchens and back of house areas are clean and organized.
• Set up control systems that will assure quality and portion consistency and create proper purchasing specifications. Ensure that there is a constant awareness in all areas for quality food presentation.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with all team members and ensure adherence to all company core values.

Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Italian Chef
• Minimum of 3 years’ in the Food & Beverage industry
• Diploma or Degree as a Chef or an additional three (3) years of relevant experience can be substitute for education
• Must have a valid Drivers' License

Additional Qualifications:
• Experience creating Italian menus and recipes
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
• Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time

Working Conditions:
• Schedule will vary according to operating needs, but will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
