Java Developer to cover the full application life cycle and will include the evaluating of business requirements, system analysis and design, writing of technical specifications, programming, testing, maintenance and technical support of our client's applications. This person will provide the effective strategic technical development of systems including new developments, maintenance, enhancement and support of existing systems. In addition provide support and assistance to the development team as subject matter expert of the systems being supported. Strong Java and .Net skills, including use and implementation of development tools will be an advantage.

ESSENTIAL
• Matric and software development related certification or Tertiary degree in the relevant field
• ± 4 Years development experience in a cross section of application environments including the following: SQL (PL/SQL – Oracle); Java (Websphere – J2EE); Oracle DB exposure; MQ exposure; Unix/Linux exposure (Administration, services, etc.)
• Extensive system analysis and design expertise
• Ability to provide creative and innovative solutions while recognising where we can leverage off existing solutions
• Provide valued feedback on both business and technical specifications
• Ability to conceptualise the big picture while retaining a high level of attention to detail
• Have the ability to assess how a given technology can contribute to the overall functioning of a system
• Compile detailed technical specifications
• Provide accurate development estimates
• Program efficiently according to predefined standards
• Conduct thorough systems testing
• Strong database design and programming skills
• Provide technical support and maintenance
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Ability to work under pressure and manage tasks accordingly
