What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the Metal Product Manufacturing sector. All duties would take place in this context.

Role Description:

Perform buying function
* Purchasing planning and scheduling
* Purchasing of raw materials
* Maintain supplier database
* Ensuring orders are delivered on time

Perform production planning
* Drawing up production schedules based on customer orders
* Monitoring schedules to ensure they are effectively implemented

Manage Bill of Materials
* Manage the Bill of Materials required for manufacturing
* Ensure adequate stock levels based on parts orders
* Setup parts lists by product
* Manage common parts

Optimise MRP system
* Optimise the configuration of the system
* Automate processes in the system

Optimise procurement processes
* Analyse current procurement processes
* Find opportunities for improvement
* Implement improvements

Optimise production processes
* Analyse current procurement processes
* Find opportunities for improvement
* Implement improvements


Key Job Deliverables:

* On time within budget purchasing
* Effective production scheduling
* Optimised procurement and production systems and processes

Background work experience:

* Suitable for Graduate
* Deg/Dip in Industrial Engineering or Production Management
* Exposure to business process improvement
* Exposure to manufacturing systems e.g. MRP
* Exposure to manufacturing environment
* Advantegous: 2+ years relevant work experience
