Purpose of the position:
The purpose of project management is to foresee or predict as many dangers and problems as possible; and to plan, organise and control activities so that the project is completed as successfully as possible in spite of all the risks.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Managing and leading the project team.
• Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work.
• Detailed project planning and control including:
o Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan.
o Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan.
o Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary.
o Resolving cross-functional issues at project level.
o Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary.
o Monitoring project progress and performance.
o Providing status reports to the project sponsor.
• Managing project training within the defined budget.
• Liaises with, and updates progress to, project board/senior management.
• Managing project evaluation and dissemination activities.
• Managing consultancy input within the defined budget.
• Working closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs.
• Definition and management of the User Acceptance Testing programme.
• Final approval of the design specification.
• Identifying training needs and devising and managing user training programmes.

Job Requirements:

Education, Experience:
• Matric/National Qualification – essential
• National Diploma / N 5 Mechanical Engineering
• Min 2-3 Years working experience (mechanical environment essential)
• Experience in a technical/mechanical sales environment- preferred
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans
• Valid Driver’s license = essential

Technical Competencies:
• MS Office Suite (intermediate to Advanced) - essential
• AutoDesk AutoCAD Mechanical / SolidWorks advantageous
