A large Construction material supply company operating throughout South Africa is looking for a suitably qualified Jnr Safety Officer with a sound knowledge of Safety protocol including Traffic Control on Roads and who are prepared to travel.

Qualification:

Appropriate diploma/degree in Safety Management.
Done SAMTRAC, HIRA, Legal Liability, Incident Investigation and other related OHS courses; Minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience as a HSE Practitioner with traffic experience on a Road construction projects.
Registration as Safety Officer with construction body

•Must have a good understanding of the legal requirements of Construction regulations;
•Must understand the implementation of health and safety systems in line with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
•Must be fully computer literate, have a valid driver's licence and possess good written (inclusive of PowerPoint presentations) and verbal
communication skills.
•Preferably affiliated and in good standing with an OHS organisation or institution.
Must have own transport and be willing and able to travel to the sites on a regular basis.

Experience:

Previous experience in road construction environment essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Overall responsibility for companies Health, Safety & Environmental Management.
•Liaise with all stakeholders , do HSE reporting and ensure that all HSE systems and requirements are standardised and controlled.
•Do all accident and incident investigations and do internal HSE audits on all the sites.
