A Pharmaceutical company based in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg, has a vacancy for a Junior Accountant, who will be reporting to the Finance Business Partner. It is a 6-month contract position.

The person will be responsible to provide support to the Finance department by managing daily accounting tasks.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, ambitious, and comfortable with numbers and have great attention to detail.
Typical duties will include:
Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Effective monitoring of cost centre; actual spend vs budgets
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Assisting in general accounting payroll duties
Examine, analyse and interpret management accounts
Assisting with preparation of budgets and forecasting
Ensuring accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting with ad hoc queries from group
Assisting in financial controls
External audit – Prepare data required for internal and external audit
Ad hoc requests, including BB BEE, Tax/VAT, Financial Controls, Insurance, National Statistics
Liaise with and manage outsourced accounting teams

Minimum Requirements
BCom Accounting Degree must be COMPLETED (non-negotiable) and preferably studying further
2-3 years’ experience in Finance, in a corporate environment
Microsoft Office Packages
Excel- VLOOKUP/Pivot tables’ knowledge is non - negotiable
Knowledge of SAP
