My client, an Engineering Company is looking for a Junior Economist to conduct Price Adjustment (CPA) training and focus on sectoral analysis at its Head office in Jhb.

Requirements:-

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics
• Thorough understanding of macro and monetary economics, econometrics and international trade
• Interest in economic and sector analysis and policy matters of the real economy 
• Familiarity with econometric packages and survey techniques
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Ability to interact with industry leaders and policy makers at all levels  - good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Preferably be resident in Gauteng (Head Office: Johannesburg)

Duties:- 

• Conducting training and consulting on Contract Price Adjustment related to the Company’s Price and Index Pages indices
• Contribution to sectoral reports on the metals and engineering sector in order to understand economic trends
• Developing price indices
• Presentation to member companies, Associations and clients at all levels
• Researching sector and industry trends 
• Assisting in the synchronisation of in-house and external data on the sector nationally.
