Junior Farm Manager – Winelands

• Report directly to the Estate Manager.
• Be responsible for the following:
1. irrigation
2. caring for orchards
3. disease and pest control
4. pruning programmes
5. weed control
6. other related tasks - i.e maintenance
• Have a faultless work ethic.
• Overseeing general maintenance and the upkeep of the entire Estate.
• Ensure that all water channels, dams and water related schemes are fully functional & operational.
• Putting in place water gathering and recycling schemes.
• Daily closing of all farm related buildings and activity areas.
• Management of all staff.
• Manage and oversee labour contractors/service providers.
• Responsible for daily and monthly labour contractor scheduling.
• Stock control and ordering of stock.
• In charge of ordering all vineyard related products and material on a continuous basis.
• Managing agricultural spraying programme and continuous fertilization initiatives.
• Management of irrigation system.
• Managing health & safety and ensuring the farm environment is safe.
• Establishment of bio diversity conservation concept.
• Managing IPW (Integrated Production of Wine).
