Junior Financial Accountant (Contract)

A leading Financial Services firm requires the skill of a dynamic individual to join them and thrive within this Financial Accountant role.

Your key responsibilities will include management and financial accounting, analysis, budgeting, reporting and ensuring that all corporate accounting requirements and deadlines are met.

You will meet the following minimum requirements
• Bcom Accounting Degree or similar
• Majors in Finance, Auditing and/or Management Accounting
• Advanced MS Office
• 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience
• IFRS
• Should be intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel user (Non negotiable)
• Should be meticulous and capable of communicating on any level
• Previous experience in Telecoms, Financial Services or Management Consulting is key

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
General Ledger:
• Manage Provisions and Accruals
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and resolve any resulting queries
• Complete month-end and year-end accounts closure process
• Processing of general journals

Audits:
• Draft financial statements
• Prepare the Audit File including all reconciliations, Balance Sheet Accounts and supporting documentation
• Prepare for external Audits

Reporting:
• Compile ad-hoc Financial information
• Prepare financial reports and returns:
• Stats SA Reports

Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Johannesburg.
Duration: 6 Months Contract (candidate must be available immediately or ASAP)
