Our leading client seeks to appoint a Junior Financial Analyst for the Group Finance Team reporting directly to Strategic Finance.
Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with various forms of analysis, sales reporting as well as assisting with budgeting and with quarterly forecasting. This function will involve interaction with and support to the sales/marketing and business unit managers as well as functionally contributing to the cohesiveness and objectives of the Group finance team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Summarising and analysing data contained on Impact Rx, IMS, SSD and other data sources to assist with commissions, performance reviews, targeting, directing promotional activities etc.
Analysing market data and sales projections, e.g. for potential launches of products
Attending management meetings to provide guidance on financial impact of certain decisions.
Summarising sales performance versus budget and versus prior years on a monthly basis.
Compiling sales reports and forecasts for principles/ suppliers on a monthly basis.
Preparing sales information for presentations during principle/ supplier visits.
Preparing financial section of the quarterly and annual CEO reports.
Preparation of budgets and forecasts, and loading of these into software.
Assisting with preparation of product P&Ls when required (e.g. with allocation of expenses, assisting with decisions to discontinue)
Analysing fees and EBITDA per product, principle, customer & other categories.
Calculating margins and fees that can be afforded for certain products and/ or customers, including pricing that can be tendered for government or private hospital tenders.
Performing various analyses as and when required.
Ad hoc projects as required

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.Comm Honours and registration with SAICA: Chartered Accountant CA (SA)
Pharmaceutical industry experience (preferable)
Management accounting and finance training and experience (preferable)
Financial analysis training or experience
Understanding contracts (commitments, pricing, forecasting, lead times etc.)
Computer literacy and high proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word

Must be able to act upon key priorities, overcoming obstacles and taking appropriate risks in order to manage projects and achieve objectives. He/ She must be able to demonstrate a history of setting ambitious, specific goals and of achieving or surpassing their objectives.
Highly adapted interpersonal skills
The successful candidate must possess well adapted interpersonal skills which will allow them to function in a high paced team environment.
