Our client a leader and a large established concern within the agricultural industry is seeking to employ a Junior Financial Manager.
Position Overview
The purpose of this role is to manage the financial department per sound financial systems, practices and processes that are compliant with relevant legislation and meet principles of international best practices and will allow the organisation to achieve its strategic financial objectives.
Qualifications and knowledge required:
• Chartered Accountant / CFA;
• 2 years broad-based financial management experience (post articles), in a relevant industry;
• 3 years of which should have been in a similar capacity;
• A detailed working knowledge in the manufacturing industry in a senior financial role;
• The Companies Act; and
• Knowledge and experience in the agriculture industry (Advantageous).

Responsibilities:
• Excellent communication skills;
• Assist in the supervision and regulation of market infrastructures (licensed exchanges, licensed central securities depositories, licensed clearing house and licensed trade repositories);
• Assist in the review of the rules of market infrastructures and ensure that procedural formalities are followed regarding applications in terms of the FMA;
• Assist in the supervision of Over-The-Counter Derivative Providers;
• Assist in administering the FMA and the preparation of interpretations and opinions regarding securities legislation;
• Assist in the enforcement of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA);
• Represent the Registrar of Securities Services (the Registrar) at relevant meetings of the market infrastructures;
• Assist the Registrar in fulfilling his/her responsibilities in respect of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions and the SADC Committee of Insurance, Securities and Non-banking Financial Authorities and assist with international liaison between the FSB and other supervisory authorities;
• Conduct research into industry developments as well as international securities regulation;
• Attend to administrative duties, including writing reports to management and other stakeholders;
• The ability to use own judgement and be detail – oriented;
• Strong accounting and analysis skills;
• High energy levels;
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks;
• Excellent leadership and management skills; and
• Knowledge of international finance reporting standards.
