We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, composed and poised reception based Jnr Legal Secretary.

Please make sure that you have all the MINIMUM requirements before applying for the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Matric / National Diploma or equivalent qualification
Secretarial Diploma with excellent typing skills - Minimum typing speed of at least between 45-50 WPM
Experience working for a law firm
Computer literate in MS Word
Fully conversant in English and Afrikaans (other national languages advantageous)
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work independently, use initiative and be able to work simultaneously on various files
Ability to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
Excellent frontline meet and greet skills and experience
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a close, tight knit team, with a positive attitude towards the job and the team
Service-orientated and a strong sense of personal obligation
Willingness to learn and improve own performance to become more efficient and effective
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Frontline based reception and all duties relevant thereto
Attending to secretarial and typing functions associated with general legal work in a commercial litigation practice
Taking messages and general office duties
Completing large volumes of dictated typing work relating to correspondence and advice to clients in commercial and High Court matters and preparing Pleadings, Notices and Affidavits
Receiving and sending e-mails to correct email addresses with delivery tracking
Liaising with clients, counsel and sheriffs, arranging consultations and attending to basic queries from clients, other attorneys and third parties without delay
Following up on outstanding issues such as outstanding documents, sheriff returns, advocates accounts etc
Attending to opening new files and diligent administration of office files and electronic filing system, to ensure that accurate filing is performed and files are maintained in accordance with firm procedures, neat and in good order
Preparing bundles of relevant documents and collating annexures
Diarising files and following up on outstanding issues
Capturing time and tariff attendances
