Junior Graphic Designer (Print & Online) – Cape Town CBD

Our client in Logistics is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join their group in CT CBD. This person will report to the Branding Coordinator in the Branding Department.

Salary – Negotiable to experience and medical aid and pension on offer

Requirements

Matric
A relevant graphic design qualification.
At least 2-3 years’ experience in a graphic design role within a similar environment.
Well acquainted with MS Word, PPT and Excel.
Basic knowledge of Photoshop CS6, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
A portfolio showcasing your best work to include:

oPrint (content focused around brochures, posters, invites, campaign concepts)
oOnline (web online invites and / or email invites)

Knowledge of Wordpress / Dreamweaver would be advantageous.
Good telephone manner, writing skills, well versed in e-mail etiquette, service driven and a definite team player.
Good time management skills in order to adhere to publishing deadlines.

Typical work activities (Including but not limited to)

Assist with all typesetting and graphic design activities, including updating existing files and preparing them for print production if required (formats include MS Word, PPT, Excel and Adobe InDesign).
Design internal stationery, i.e. birthday cards, info and admin sheets, digital newsletter etc.
Generating creative ideas for corporate client gifts

Key abilities required

Demonstrate excellent design skills with the required detail orientation and analytical ability.
Display a creative flair and is able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Need excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be able to interpret and negotiate a brief effectively.
Proactive self-starter with the organisational ability to meet tight deadlines.
