A small newly established Game Lodge, situated in Marken (Limpopo) are currently looking for a JUNIOR Lodge Manager to start as soon as possible. The position is ideal for students who have just finished studies and needs some experience
R5 500 salary package for the first 3 months includes: Live in, Single Accommodation; not suitable for children or pets. Meals and uniform provided. Commission structure based on achieving set targets included. (Salary will be reviewed after 3 months)

The manager has various responsibilities and there will need to be an element of flexibility in the position. Daily management of the entire property. The Manager is required to prepare dinners and other meals at the Lodge and good kitchen & food preporation skills are required. The manager will be required to report on guests experience and general lodge operations as well as see to the general game farm responsibilities.

Experience, skills & Requirements:
• Minimum of Grade 12 (Matric)
• Tertiary qualification (qualification in Hospitality Management or similar)
• Minimum of 1-2 yrs. previous working experience as an Operations Manager/ Lodge Manager within a hotel/ lodge or guest house
• Passion for guest satisfaction
• Must have to ability to managing and train housekeeping staff
• Strong leader with excellent communication skills and compassion for staff
• Must be able to work independently with strong leadership and organizational skills
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Attention to detail
• Good computer literacy, Office, Internet and Nightsbridge (is a plus but easy to learn)
• Ability to interact with corporate as well as leisure clients, national & international
• Understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures
• Must be task focused and have a good understanding of day to day lodge operations
• Must be mature in mind as there will be an element of staff management, stock control and accountability
• Must be flexible & very good in English & Afrikaans
• Driver’s license and own vehicle

Responsibilities:
• Manage the property with respect to maintenance and general upkeep of the establishment
• All aspects of client relations, from check in to departure
• Housekeeping supervision
• Preparation of all meals for clients
• Game drives, nature walks and general observation of the animals and bush conditions
• Ensure ultimate guest relations & liaison and ensuring guests satisfaction
• Report on guests experience and general lodge operations
• Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and maintenance and conduct room checks
• Oversee weekly planning of daily operations, procurement, task allocation, etc. at the lodge
• Conduct stock takes & Stock management
• Effective financial management (orders & purchasing for F&B)
• Staff management, development and training (Oversee staff welfare, mainly Housekeeping / cleaning staff / gardening)
• Communication with each worker regarding their daily duties and responsibilities
• Supervise all functions, weddings and events
• Related administration for all bookings and update of financial sheet
• Communication between reservation office and manager is very important to make sure clients receive the experience they are hoping for.
• Maintain roads on the farm, clearing dead branches away and cutting open all roads used for game drives
