JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER (MANAGER-IN-TRAINING)
(North West close to Potchefstroom and Carltonville)
A drilling service provider to the mining industry requires a Junior Mechanical Engineer looking for a career in mining and will be appointed as a Manager-in-Training.
The remuneration varies depending on candidates's experience
The suitable candidate must be medically fit to work underground
Must be willing to travel extensively
Must have a Mechanical Degree/Diploma
Preferably have some mining experience, a Government Certificate of Competency and Project Management experience an advantage.
Should have a knowledge of maintenance systems
Strong customer liaison skills
Take full responsibility as appointed in terms of section 2.9.2 of the Occupational Health and safety Act
Promote and maintain the company's occupational health and safety programme to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
Other responsibilities would include but not limited to implementing and maintaining, monitoring reporting systems control of contractors to ensure adequate availability and utilization of resources; supervise and control all subordinates in area of responsibility; ensure that dressing reports are done; compile month end reports, stabiliser reports and drill pipe reports; approve time sheets; adherence to all requirements as set out in risk assessment
ensure that all logbooks are completed timeously and correctly; compliance as per ISO documentation compliance to waste allocation and waste disposal amongst employees; material safety data sheets on display applicable on all products in use
