Title: Junior Planner
Reporting to: Senior Planner
Closing date: 05 October 2014

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop critical path network precedence baseline programmes capable of complying to the relevant specific contract requirements.
2. Load baseline programmes with resources (labour and units of measure) and produce all necessary histograms.
3. Progress baseline programmes as directed by Senior Planner.
4. Deliver the relevant schedules, supporting documentation and tools for the project execution team to execute the scope of works.
5. Produce short term schedules in conjunction with the construction teams.
6. Promote standardized planning practices and reporting systems to suit the business requirements of the client and of the project.
7. Measure performance against requirements and provides feedback and support.
8. Provides feedback to Senior Planner of variances against the baseline programme.
9. Able to take V.O’s, site instructions and escalations into consideration and reflect in the schedules.
10. Contribute appropriately to daily, weekly and monthly reports.
11. Meet regularly with all project stakeholders to understand progress, variations, changes in focus and priorities and update the schedule to reflect the actual conditions.
12. General planning & scheduling duties as Senior Planner may direct.
Key Requirements:
Skill & Experience
1. Three (3) to five (5) years planning experience in an industrial power / energy / mining / petro-chemical related construction environment.
2. Experience in developing programmes in Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project (2007/2010/2013) using sound planning and scheduling techniques.
3. Ability to produce S-Curves and Resource Histograms.
4. Ability to read and interpret drawings.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.

Education:
1. A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Building Science/Construction Management. (NVQ6, BTech / HND / ND / Technical Certificate)
2. Computer literate and demonstrable knowledge of Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Projects (2007/2010/2013).
3. Professional registration advantageous
