Junior Public Relations (PR) Executive - Paulshof – Johannesburg
To start as soon as possible
Salary: up to R22 000 per month, depending on experience

They are seeking an independent junior PR executive with the necessary qualifications and skills to join their team. Requirements:
Matric essential
Relevant qualification
The candidate must be proficient in copywriting and proofing, and must be deadline driven, have a keen attention to detail, and great communication skills.
Media relations experience with contacts in the magazines, radio and TV is a bonus
A highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced environment
Able to balance/prioritise multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
Competent knowledge of all MS Office programs
Own vehicle mandatory

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Conceiving brands’ PR strategy with manager
Developing relationships with magazine editors, TV producers and radio presenters
Managing press launches, press drops, product launches and competitions
Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations
Ensuring that media’s requirements for quotes, interviews and further information is answered timeously and appropriately, so as not to damage relationships.
Researching, writing and distributing of press releases to targeted media
Acting as a professional representative of the company, whether in the office, attending an event, running errands or communicating verbally or in writing at all times
Ensuring that all press contact lists are regularly updated and new ones prepared monthly
Creating, organising, maintaining and sending a monthly PR recap
Must be an effective, confident communicator – ability to hold his/her own in conversations with all kinds of media
Must consume the media on a daily basis and be up-to-speed on current events
Must be able to differentiate needs of print/broadcast/online media (bloggers, journalists and reviewers) and know how to approach them accordingly
Must have the willingness and ability to think beyond traditional PR tactics and strategies to design/execute innovative approaches
Must have a flexible schedule that may include "non-traditional" hours
Must work well in a team environment
Assist with the general day-to-day activities associated with PR.
Write press releases for new products or upcoming occasions
Meet with merchandising to familiarise themselves with product development
