JUNIOR PRODUCTION PLANNER JOB VACANCY

DUTIES
• Responsible to prepare, review and follow-up on the administrative work to be done prior to any work order being created for molding in JDE (inside the plant or at outsource)
• Review upcoming molds and ensure that the correct suffix is linked to each mold in JDE.
• Follow up on purchase orders and delivery schedules of suppliers.
• Request and obtain the relevant packing instructions from QA, ensure that it’s signed off by QA, that the necessary packing materials are available for the production run and highlight any substitutes, if necessary.
• All signed off packing instructions to be filed once the job has been created on JDE (for reference purposes for queries and consumption)
• Dependent on which mold will be run first, ensure that the BOM has the correct naked bulk and pack bulk and request / verify for this to be changed, if needed.
• Collects and assesses data about the packing team’s performance (products scanned to Warehouse).
• Receive a list from the Planning Manager on bulk that has to be packed up.
• Request and verify that pack BOM's are loaded and routings are correct for the relevant items.
• Request and obtain the relevant packing instructions from QA, ensure that it’s signed off by QA, that the necessary packing materials are available for the production run and highlight any substitutes, if necessary.
• On a daily basis manually adjust the belt packing jobs in Barco to reflect the outstanding quantities (JDE/Barco doesn’t update the belt packing jobs)
• Once the Packing team has confirmed that the stock has been packed up, ensure that the system is not showing any bulk stock that is left over.
• Manage the process of stock being packed up at Genesis, by agreeing with the Planning Manager what stock can be send to them for packing and then
• controlling and managing the process of what stock is send to them and what is being brought back.
• Take full responsibility for all the packing jobs (inside the plant or externally)
• Verify that stock counts are done on the necessary codes in JDE as and when requested by other Production Planners.
• Follow-up on any outstanding costings for Marketing to ensure that costs are available for their sign-off meetings.
• Control the process of getting signed, packing instructions from QA before a work order can be created for Outsource.
• Once the costing proposal has been accepted by the outsourced party, ensure that the PIF, PSR and packing instruction sheet is send to the outsource party.
• Once the first 5 cartons have been sampled, based on production from Outsource, send the artwork to the respective outsource partner, in order for them to print the carton labels.
• Once a production run is complete, ensure that the necessary materials are send back to the plant.
• Plan the sequencing of blow molding jobs and share the Blow mold plan with the relevant Operational team to plan the production.
• Monitor the daily output and ensure that Finished Goods are available for sales as and when required.
• Liaise with the MRP Production Planner to source packing material required as per the Blow mold plan.
• Updating of the manual plan board on a weekly basis, in order for it to be send to Senior Management.
• Compile and send out a daily shortage report, indicating the products where the demand exceeds the supply.
• Assist to calculate the capacity needed by the packing department and the shifts required.
• Ensure Packing department planning are co-ordinated with internal planning.
• Prepare daily and weekly belt packing reports.
• Timeous distribution of belt packing plans.
• Daily production feedback meetings are attended.
• Provide weekly and monthly reporting on conformance to belt packing plans and top 20 bulk inventory levels and future plans to reduce the stock.
• Assist other Production Planners with information required by Management for ad hoc reporting.
• Ensure compliance to the QMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, work instruction and SOPs at all times.
• Ensure compliance to OHSACT and all company Risk, Health and Safety procedures and statutory requirements.
• Ensure that unsafe conditions are reported immediately.
• Actively participate in the DuPont STOP safety program.
• Assist in achieving department and site business initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum National Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
• Alternatively, APICS certified (Advancing Productivity, Innovation and Competitive Success) in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
• Proven experience of promotional planning in a production planning environment. (3 years minimum)
• Excellent knowledge of production planning principles and production procedures.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain and Distribution Management.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Mathematical skills, especially in the area of statistics.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy at intermediate level of competence in MS Office/ JDE or other ERP systems.
