A diversified steel fabricator operating in the oil & gas, diamond mining, mineral processing and marine industries, in both local and international markets currently require a Junior Project Manager/Project Engineer at their Cape Town branch. Suitable candidates will need a Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
Requirements:
• An individual with a minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience in the industry as a Jnr Project Manager / Project Engineer.
• The ability to work in a high-energy team-environment.
• Be self-motivated and goal orientated.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Fabrication experience/exposure will be advantageous.
• Proficient in CAD (preferably 3D modeling – Solidworks or similar)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare tenders
• Direct all project phases – engineering (basic and detailed), procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning/start-up
• Maintain a strategic focus for the project with frequent interaction with the business area and the client to ensure a balance between the immediate project needs and the long term goals of the company
• Manage the execution of the project
• Ensure that the right product is developed and delivered to meet Company’s quality standard, safety standard and contract requirements
• Track project against its schedule
• Manage project budget and controls expenses effectively
• Provide feedback regarding employee performance
• Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality, cost or on-time delivery
• Identify project scope changes and prepares job change notices for submittal to clients
• Maintain awareness of safety and environmental requirements
• Assist in preparation of and review of client invoices
• Review data books
• Maintain a high degree safety and good housekeeping in accordance with OHS Act and company policies.
