The purpose of the position is to accurately cost all projects and to ensure that projects are completed within budget. Within this position the Quantity Surveyor will fulfil the following roles:
1. Tendering for projects (20%)
2. Management of awarded tenders by:
a. Costing of contract variations (20%)
b. Appointment of sub-contractors (15%)
c. Cost management of projects (40%)
d. Management of construction guarantees (5%)
Academic requirements
B-Tech or B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying
Technical knowledge and skills
• Sufficient knowledge of CCS programme.
• MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint), working knowledge of MS Projects advantageous
• Construction cost management program knowledge (Candy & Build Smart)
• Knowledge of legislation and regulations that impact various construction projects
• Knowledge of various forms of building contracts and requirements (JBCC, NEC, FIDIC, GCC)
Experience
• 4 to 6 years’ quantity surveying experience in similar role.
