Junior R&D Chemist (K180)
*BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry and a minimum of a years’ experience in industrial organic chemistry with hands on experience in synthetic methodology, product purification, and modern methods of organic analysis.*

Description: A leading global developer and manufacturer of chemical intermediates and solutions is looking for an R&D Chemist to join their team. Key responsibilities will include: serving as a member of the QA Support Services team; being called upon from time to time to coach or mentor site core teams in order to continually improve their level of knowledge and skills; assuming the duties and responsibilities of other QA staff members in their absence at the direction of the R&D Manager or Technical Manager; providing technical service to both internal and external customers through the resolution of quality problems and customer complaints related to the chemical characteristics of our products; conducting research and development with regard to the development of new products and processes as directed by the Technical Manager or R&D Manager; providing a written monthly report summarizing progress and results of investigations; providing analytical support to site manufacturing groups and Quality Assurance laboratory; carrying out special projects in support of manufacturing; participating in process hazard analysis (PHA) of new and existing site processes; participating in site Process Safety Management Programs as needed; participating in corrective or preventive action to ensure site processes and procedures to prevent non-conformance; following site safety rules and rules of conduct for company employees and practicing responsible care through active participation and adherence to the Guiding Principles of the Responsible Care Management System.
Key Requirements: BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry; a minimum of a years’ experience in industrial organic chemistry with hands on experience in synthetic methodology, product purification, and modern methods of organic analysis; experience in design of experiments and the use of statistical techniques in the analysis of data; ability to conduct research with minimum supervision and achieve the goals agreed to by mutual consent with the Technical Manager; good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy are essential. The position holder should possess or be able to develop a strong working knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) currently used at the site, as well as, data systems used to operate computerized analysis equipment at the site.
Remuneration: Market related and dependent on experience
