Kendrick Recruitment is now looking for a Junior Sous Chef for an elite Kitchen based in the Kruger National Park. The main purpose of the Junior Sous Chef is to ensure that the kitchen is supervised and that quality food is produced in line with the required high standards expected at this lodge. The Junior Sous Chef must hand over responsibilities and requests to the next shift coming on duty and ensure that they receive a handover form the previous shift when coming on duty. Within this position you will report directly to the Head Chef. Are you interested? - If so this is what we are looking for you to have:Diploma from a recognised Culinary Training EstablishmentMinimum of 5 years experience in a medium sized kitchenA passion for cooking and all kitchen related dutiesTime management skills and able to plan and work methodicallyCommunication skills in the kitchen and the ability to work under pressure If you meet the above then this is what you could be doing in this role!Supervision and training of the kitchen staff.Preparation of food.Effective guest interaction to enhance guest satisfaction.Administration of orders to minimize shortages and wastage and effective stock control.Ensuring that the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen is of the highest standard.Communication with kitchen and lodge front of house staff to ensure the smooth running of the department.Achieving service excellence though Teamwork. For this position a salary of R9,000 – R12,500 is being offered to the selected candidate. This will include meals, accommodation and uniform as well as other benefits.
