Junior Sous Chef

Established restaurant in Durbanville is looking for an energetic, loyal and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join their vivacious team. This is a fantastic opportunity that can offer exceptional exposure and experience in the industry.

Requirements:
Mandatory matric Certificate / Senior Certificate.
Appropriate professional cookery qualification will be a strict requirement.
2-4 years’ experience working in the industry.
1 years’ experience working as a Sous Chef.
Experience working in a busy a la carte kitchen.
Experience working in a fast passed, flexible and challenging environment.
Experience working on catering for private functions.
Own reliable transport and driver’s license.
Ability to work shifts and over time.
Management experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:
Management of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef.
Preparation and cooking of meals in line with occupancy and menu design of clients.
Daily preparations for upcoming functions.
Assist with preparations and cooking of meals for functions and events at required facilities.
Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards.
Mentor junior chefs as required.
Stock control - procurement, control and rotation.
Assist with ordering and buying stock for functions.
