What does a Junior Systems Monitoring Engineer do?

IT Lab strives to provide proactive system management for our 350+ customers.  As such, we have a live monitoring tool which actively reports on key system events.  These in-turn need to be actively managed to either prevent system failures or mitigate further risk to our customers.  The purpose of the Junior Systems engineer would be to manage these alerts; prioritise; resolve the 1st-line-type events (which will include engaging with 3rd party vendors) and escalation to senior engineers.  This is a great role for someone who has not had in-depth IT experience and would like some exposure to support and systems.
