We’re looking for a Junior WordPress Developer who has a flair for design with a very strong technical ability. We’re looking for no-nonsense, hard-working people who uses their initiative and has a “can-do” attitude. This role is for someone looking to grow with a start-up digital agency.

Remuneration: Market Related / Negotiable

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years WordPress experience and web development experience

• Good understanding of responsive web design and a mobile first approach to development

• A wide portfolio of work

• Skillset must include:

o WordPress Dev

o Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Illustrator / Adobe InDesign

o SEO and UX understanding

• Experience with:

o Adobe Products

o WordPress

o Search Engine Optimisation

• Able to manipulate plugins to perform required functions (mentioning examples will

be beneficial)

• Experience using child themes and familiar plugins

• Building new WordPress sites/systems from scratch (including themes and plugins)


A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU

• Advise on optimization tactics / best practice.

• A strong visual eye and understanding of design concepts is necessary

• Perspective on frontend (and backend) technologies and their impact on the design process

• Converting custom designs to WordPress.

• Ensuring browser and device compatibility

• Carrying out maintenance on existing WordPress sites

• Passionate about learning and continuous improvement

• Up-to-date with technology

• Solid troubleshooting skills

• Understanding SEO

• You have an appreciation for testing and automation.

• eCommerce experience (WooCommerce + Shopify + PayU + PayFast)

TERMS OF CONTRACT

• 8:00 to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. The schedule is ‘deadline-driven’ i.e. on occasions when deadlines are tight, work may be required outside these hours

• Employment will be subject to an initial 3-month probationary period whereby performance will be appraised and reviewed
