Kitchen Manager/Chef – Cape Town

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, energetic, creative and enthusiastic individual with a dynamic, vibey restaurant situated in the Southern Suburbs. Our client prides themselves on customer service and the quality food that they provide on a day to day basis.

Key Tasks and Duties:
• Management of back of house and all kitchen operations - leadership, supervision and discipline of staff within the team
• Ensure consistency in food standards and portion control as per company policy.
• Stock management - orders, control and stock takes.
• Ensure hygiene of Fridges & Freezers.
• Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs
• Hygiene and control of store rooms.
• Preparation of dishes.
• Assisting with food costing.
• Compiling staff rosters.
• Controlling the pass and calling out orders
• Related kitchen administration.

Requirements include:
• Minimum of 3 years kitchen management experience
•Relevant tertiary experience an advantage
• Sound menu costing and compilation skills
• Strong stock control skills
