Our client, a leading Retailer, requires the services of a Labeling Regulatory and Compliance Officer to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements within the food industry are met at all times.


Key Performance areas:

? Responsible for accurate assessments of packaging for proposed new products
? Provide correct regulatory guidance to New Product Development on private label products being developed in-house
? Keep up to date with current and proposed draft legislation
? Provide clear written reports where required
? Liaison with Government bodies such as NRCS, Department of Agriculture and Department of Health
? Liaison with suppliers regarding Quality Assurance

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Food Technology / Food and Consumer Sciences)
? 2 – 3 years relevant experience in food industry
? Knowledge of the FMCG industry, basic science and regulatory exposure
? Good knowledge of all relevant South African regulations across a wide range of products
? Good analytical skills
? Must be highly numerate and be able to pick up inconsistencies in trends
? Must be able to grasp and process new information quickly and apply it
? Highly computer literate (MS Office core applications and SAP would be advantageous)
? Must be assertive and have excellent verbal and written communications skills (Afrikaans and English)
? Must be extremely accurate and have great attention to detail
? Must be results driven
? Must be flexible and able to perform well under pressure
? Must have valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
