Location: Paarl, Western Cape.

Description: A water testing laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Administrator to join their team. Key duties will include but is not limited to: answering the main switch board and handling all telephonic calls in a professional manner; receiving the samples and accurately capturing and recording all relevant information on LIMS; interacting with clients in a professional manner and handling any queries that might arise; proficient LIMS administration, including the creation of schedules, correct allocation of analyses to samples, creation of new company and company individuals; complete any filing, typing and administrative tasks that might be required; distribution of sample containers to external facilities; liaising with courier companies for deliveries; ensuring client samples registers are maintained; receiving, creating, capturing and maintaining legislative documentation associated with samples; creation and issuing of quotations; ensuring the continuity of all work according to laboratory’s Quality Management System; receipt of stock from suppliers and capturing the relevant information on LIMS; correct use of documentation (forms, methods, procedures); identifying and raising non-conformances, implementing corrective actions and identifying improvement initiatives; good housekeeping and laboratory practice; reporting any anomalies with respect to samples or results; assisting with any other duties that fellow staff members of management may require; understand and adhere to requirements and functioning of commercial laboratory; assist additional departments where reasonably possible; assist with planning, organisation and control of daily inputs and outputs of the laboratory analytical function.

Key Requirements: Administrative diploma with at least five years’ experience in an administrative role required. Good mathematical skills and computer skills essential. Able to manage time, fellow employees and work effectively.

Additional Requirements: Confident and trustworthy. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Accurate, methodical, precise and pays attention to detail. Able to work independently but as part of a bigger team. Flexible in approach to work with ability to multi-task.

Remuneration: Market related and based on qualification and experience.

Starting date: As soon as possible.
