DESCRIPTION
Understand specifications and convert raw materials into product, understanding the complexities of the process

MEIBC GRADE & RATE PER HOUR
Grade G @ R 38.95: Semi skilled and/or 3 years experience

TASKS PERFORMED
Understand various specifications
Know various laminating tools and what each one is used for
Fix, assemble or install moulded components
Laminate fibre glass by smoothing it with rollers and brushes to remove air pockets before the mixture hardens
Fit together various parts of the product by hand, using bonding agents
Maintain production and quality assessment records
Perform basic laminating
Structural glass laminating
Demould a product
Core bonding
Brush gelcoating
Gelcoat thickness measuring
Waxing
Applying PVA release
Complete basic tabbing of reinforcing
Tabbing of components and bulkheads
Grind and flowcoat areas that have been tabbed
Applying the Chemlease release system
Control blending, compounding and drying equipment
Vacuum pump operation
Taping stripes
Gelcoating stripes
Mould levelling
Understand mixing of catalyst percentages

Able to work with hands
