In reporting to the Senior Land Surveyor, and successfully working in a team, the incumbent will be responsible for the measurement of land and to collect data to meet project objectives

Job Description:

Verify the accuracy of survey data (incl. measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites)
Calculate the height, depth, relative position, and property lines of pieces of land
Preparation and maintenance of maps, sketches, reports and legal descriptions (describe, certify and assume liability for work performed)
Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features
Using geodetic and engineering instruments
Provide guidance to site investigations team and the draughtsman for preparing design drawings
Ensure project budgets are adhered to
Operate within ISO standards

Minimum Requirements:

BSc / BTech in Surveying and Registered with SAGC Council as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
Min of 5 years relevant engineering land surveying experience relating to infrastructure development (incl. Municipal services)
Relevant legal knowledge ie. Labour Relations Act, EE Act, OHS Act and Design Compliance Standards
MS Project, Modelmaker and other design software experience
Drivers licence is essential
Flexible for regular travel
