We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst that will lead the identification of the business requirement specification and drive the translation into a functional requirement specification, testing, business rules and documentation.

The lead business analyst is also responsible for contributing towards, overseeing the BA processes and operations.

Competencies

  • Business analysis skills 8 yrs +
  • Data management and or BCBS experience a distinct advantage
  • Exposure to data quality and dashboard development

 Level of Authority

  • Manager - Work within and contribute towards the creation of processes and guidelines and ensures the correct authorisations are received when necessary

  • Facilitate analysis sessions and workshops with senior business stakeholders across the organization
  • Communication skills in terms of verbal and written updates to stakeholders

  • Bridge the gap between business requirements and detailed technical specifications for the development team
  • Guiding, quality assuring and integrating the outputs of the business analysts

Deliverables

  • Business requirement documentation
  • Execution plan for data quality requirements gathering
  • Requirements gathering for on boarding new business areas and migrating existing tactical reporting solutions to the strategic data quality monitoring solution
  • Definition of a generic, enterprise data quality solution as well divisional and role-based requirements

Key Performance Areas

  • Analysis and Solution Definition
  • Rapidly understand the business issues and data challenges of client's organization and industry
  • Identify client organization strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement
  • Perform stakeholder analysis
  • Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
  • Develop functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements

Testing

  • Lead testing efforts
  • Create and document test cases and plans
  • Perform FAT testing
  • Perform UAT testing
  • Update TFS testing statuses
  • Understand technical design specifications
  • Define test conditions
  • Develop accurate and complete test plans
  • Conduct testing according to plan
  • Identify and document system deficiencies and recommends solutions
  • Retest if necessary
  • Report on testing results / outcomes
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
  • Work with client personnel to identify required changes
  • Communicate needed changes to development team

Documentation

  • Document business rules and update the business rules repository
  • Document the business requirement specifications (BRS)
  • Document the functional requirement specification (FRS)
  • Produce reports as required
  • Archive documents in SharePoint

Meetings and workshops

  • Prepare and conduct meetings as required
  • Prepare meeting minutes
  • Assist in prioritization meetings
  • Attend reviews and planning sessions
  • Run and or attend the inception workshops as required
  • Attend project status / update meetings
  • Run analysis workshops

Project assistance

  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
  • Take input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback
  • Develop internal and external meeting objectives and agendas.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Understand the components of running a fiscally successful project
  • Assist in the management and documentation of scope
  • Escalate scope creep as required
  • Hand over artefacts to development teams

Coaching

  • Review work performed and ensure it is conformant
