Purpose of the job
To ensure the optimum performance of the LAN and Desktop services to the organizations customers, provide and execute the LDS operational plan for the implementation, maintenance and support of the related services.

Responsibility Areas
To Provide inputs into the development and oversee the implementation of the LAN and Desktop Services Operational Plan that is aligned to the Functional Support Service Delivery strategy. To Provide LDS technical advisory services to the organizations customers. Manage, Implement, Monitor and control improvement of business processes. To ensure a healthy client relationship is maintained. To monitor the performance Contract and related requirements management. To comply to sound Financial management principles. To oversee the performance and management of the Human Resources within the allocated ICT environment.

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum: Grade 12, IT Degree in Computer Science/ National Diploma in IT / related fields and IT Technology certification, i.e. current MCSE, CCIE, etc. or equivalent. Experience: 7 – 8 Years experience in the respective field including, experience as a Manager/ Senior Specialist with general management, business support/operations in a Corporate/Public Sector Organisation. Experience in the provision of ICT solutions and services.

Technical Competencies Description
Knowledge of: Knowledge of hardware and software support for client system/solutions; Understanding of Server Support solutions; System performance and security indicators; Knowledge of design principles and practices; Knowledge of computing and information technology strategic plans, procedures, programs and schedules for computer services, network communications, and management information services; Knowledge of industry best practises and standards e.g. ITIL, COBIT; Knowledge of Financial Management Principles; Knowledge of Project Management Methodology; Understanding of Quality assurance standards; Various and relevant legislation's: State Information Technology Act; Company’s Act
