A well-known international company in Cape Town seeks a Lead PHP Developer to act as their Business Development Unit Manager and to take lead of the
development team on a full time permanent basis. They are offering a very good compensation package of R 50,000 per month (highly negotiable) plus benefits like pension, medical aid and performance bonusses and career growth opportunities.

Knowledge (Essential Qualifications):

• Relevant Degree in Computer Science
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience in managing other developers in a development unit.
• Must be an avid programmer and likes to solve complex coding problems.
• Need to have the desire to teach others
• Must have a portfolio of work and be very detailed about their input.
• Own projects on the side can demonstrate skillset and would count as a bonus.

Skills (Requirements):

• Responsible for a growing development team (initially just oversee current  developer).
• Needs a senior mindset to manage and grow his subordinate
• Must be able to travel internationally to UK, UAE and USA for a period of 3 to 4    days every second month.
• Strong administration and communication skills
• Must have an analytical mind (must admire data platforms like Google Analytics    etc.)
• Must be a master of your own craft with a desire to always improve.
• Must love the process of bringing ideas to life and should be a very strong  advocate for user experience design.
• Must be competitive (look at our competitor's stacks and advise a strategy on how  we can improve and be the best.)
• Must be a self-starter and can think outside the box.
• Strong planning, organizing and problem-solving ability
• Team oriented

 
The successful candidate will be a very resourceful senior PHP programmer with the spirit of an entrepreneur that will stay with a company over the long term, loves family and enjoy building relationships with co-workers and people, has a real passion for exploring (tackling the unknown, endless desire for learning new things, travel oversees, etc.) and has the skillset to perfect their own product, have a good eye for analytical data, are very competitive and have some aptitude to dealing
with people.
