Main responsibilities
•Understand and support the publishing mission of the client and work closely with the top editorial team on a daily basis, meeting their editorial needs and supporting new initiatives.
•Develop, maintain and continuously improve the clients website, applying best user experience practices, ensuring simple and effective navigation and presentation of large amounts of content; ensuring the site does not look cluttered; ensuring that due exposure is given to various content elements and that usability is continuously enhanced.
•Ensure ongoing improvement and development, as well as integration and consistency of the look and feel across all the clients’ online content delivery platforms - website, mobile site, newsletters and other digital delivery channels (eBooks, apps).
•Keep abreast of the latest in Internet technologies and programming, and keep improving your skills set.
•Monitor developments in online content presentation, ensuring that we keep pace with worldwide trends in terms of site functionality.
•Take initiative and permanently innovate, creating clever, cool applications.
•Enhance existing functionalities and introduce those that would improve the readers’ experience.
•Implement strict quality control procedures for testing applications and Web pages for bugs and malfunctions; fix the bugs and implement the changes.
•Produce supporting documentation; keep all the changes on record.
•Review home page and newsletters prior to identify problems.
•Do other application development tasks as deemed necessary

Skills requirement:
•Expert in PHP, HTML
•Expertise with modern web development technologies and paradigms
•Excellent troubleshooting skills
•Proven track record of technical innovation and out of the box thinking

Interpersonal skills:
•Excellent communication skills, ability to work closely with cross-disciplinary teams (editors, journalists, designers, project managers, sales executives).

Advantageous:
•Experience with news-driven media websites.
