Brief Posting Description
To develop, lead and manage the implementation of the segment learning and development strategy ensures the alignment of the segment strategy to the business strategy of the segment and the company HR and company learning and Development Strategy and corporate governance requirements.
Detailed Description
• International travel required
• Influence the learning and development strategy for each country.
• Represent the company Internationally on all learning and development forums in South Africa
• Co-ordination of learning and development initiatives across brands, segments and business units.
Job Requirements
• Develops and manages a Segment Learning and Development (L&D) budget in conjunction with key stakeholders in segment.
• Ensures alignment of training spend to key business performance and strategic imperatives including the segment and company talent management strategies.
• Seeks efficiencies in the provision of L&D services within the segment whilst ensuring learning effectiveness to an on-the-job performance level within the segment,
• Obtains rebates through compliance to reporting requirements and seeks grants from the group and relevant segment initiatives linked to national Skills legislation.
• Provides thought leadership and expertise on leading practices and benchmarks in Learning and Development
• Development of a service culture which builds rewarding relationships proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.
• Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, centre of excellence, learning and development community and senior management.
• Ensure the alignment of learning with relevant legislative, audit, Management System and company learning standards.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the segment Learning and Development strategy
• Manages the efficient operation of learning and development initiatives within the segment.
• Ensures the effectiveness of learning and development programmes and initiatives at a business and individual performance level through the provision of L&D evaluation system.
• Leads and manages the implementation of the underlying L&D philosophy of the company, the requirements of the companies Quality Management System and the Group Learning Management Platform Governance, Processes and Standards.
• Implements an L&D evaluation system that evaluates learning to an individual performance level.
• Reports on the implementation of the segment Learning and Development strategy including skills development compliance to relevant stakeholders.
• Leads and manages the segment Learning and Development team which includes planning and managing performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of team in order to improve innovation and achieve efficiencies.
• Manages development to increase competencies of self and team.
Additional Details
• Bachelors Degree in Human Sciences or Learning and Development (NQF 7)
• Preferable – Masters in Learning and Development or similar
• 5 to 10 years related experience
• 4 years plus senior management/strategic leadership experience
• Broad experience in Learning and Development
