Job Purpose:
• To lecture a variety of subjects in the Events Management programmes of the department, to supervise postgraduate students up to Masters level and to support the department in terms of administrative and curriculum development requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• A relevant Master’s Degree in Tourism or Events Management, coupled with at least 2 years' relevant experience
• A proven track record in the initiation and active involvement in marketing of tourism and events related projects
• Willingness to work over weekends, vacations and public holidays

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
• Lecturing to full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students in Events for Tourism
• Handling the development and re-curriculation of courses and programmes
• Interacting and working closely with the Graduate Center for Management (G.C.M.) on professional and short course development, as well as lecturing
• Assisting the Head of Department with the support, development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational plans (including up-to-date course material) for the offered programmes as well as student selection, registration and administration in respect of all evaluations
• Conducting research and supervising MTech students
• Publish research articles (co-publication of at least one high quality article per year in an accredited journal) and present at conferences
• Building links with the industry, other training providers and all relevant stakeholders
