Legal Advisor (AA Only)

Area: Pretoria

Package: Negotiable up to R700 000 CTC P/A

Purpose: Admitted Attorney with 3-5 years’ experience in legal, risk and compliance gained in the Financial Services industry. The group has Asset Management, Asset Administration and distribution business units.

KRA’s
Drafting and review of legal agreements applicable to the different business units within the group
Advising on the impact of legislation applicable to the different business units and their clients
General Legal advisor duties
Drafting of legal opinions
Engaging and briefing of external legal counsel
Legal documentation management
Legal risk management reporting
Presentations on various legal topics and developments to the different business units, with a specific focus on compliance with legislation regulated by the FSB

Minimum requirements
Admitted Attorney with 3-5 years’ experience
Excellent drafting skills
Ability to interpret legislation and make recommendations taking into account business requirements
Working knowledge and understanding of financial market legislation, primary Cisca, FAIS, FSB circulars, and FICA.
Good knowledge and understanding of financial services industry
Good knowledge and understanding of the various kinds of business units
Good knowledge and understanding of corporate law and good corporate governance
Computer literate in MS Office
Ability to speak and understand Afrikaans will be advantageous
