LLB Graduate, preferably with a CCSSA qualification and minimum 3 years’ compliance experience within the Financial Services Industry, required to perform legal, compliance and company secretarial duties.
Experience within the short term insurance industry preferred.
Minimum requirements:
• Legal Degree essential
• Chartered Company Secretarial (CCSSSA) qualification advantageous
• 3-5 years relevant compliance experience in the Financial Services Industry essential
• Short Term Insurance experience preferred
Responsibilities:
• Legal:
o Drafting and vetting contracts
o Client disputes, Ombudsman and litigation
o Liaise with Intermediaries, Attorneys and general management of disputes
o Liaise and prepare documents and communication with Regulator
o Stakeholder and Intermediary liaison
• Compliance
o Prepare and implement compliance plan
o Attend to management interaction and ensure best process in line with statutory requirements
o Stay abreast of developments in regulatory environment
o Ad hoc training and information sessions for staff and management
o Feedback and updates of development to Board, management and staff
• Company Secretarial
o Prepare, circulate board reports and minutes
o Ensure best practice ito corporate governance and ensure implementation of King and other statutory and regulatory requirements for the Board
o Feedback and updates of status of legal and compliance in business as a whole
o Ad hoc assistance to non-executive directors of the Board
