Legal Counsel Labour and Commercial - Sandton

l  Assist HR with the maintenance and update of all labour & HR related policies & procedures


l  Chair alternatively prosecute all internal disciplinary hearings


l  Assist HR to manage disciplinary hearings


l  Attend to and represent the company at the CCMA


l  Manage external labour lawyer should the need arise


l  Assist HR department on an Ad Hoc basis with labour related issues


l  Research (not limited to labour issues)


l  Maintain and update legal register re compliance issues (not limited to labour matters)


Ad hoc functions as per requirement from Head of Department


l  Some commercial contract negotiation and review as per requirement – to be confirmed and expanded as the need arises.


l  Some corporate governance assistance to Head of department and other team members


l  General legal assistance to Head of Department as required


 


REQUIREMENTS


 


-          Admitted attorney;


-          2 – 4 years post admission experience


-          Ability to work independently and in a team


-          Must be proficient in at least 2 local languages of which one must be English;


-          Excellent communication skills a must


-          Previous in-house legal experience in a telecommunication environment an advantage


-          Willingness to learn and expand on his/her current capabilities
