Our client in the clay brick manufacturing industry requires a Line Supervisor for their Production Department

LINE SUPERVISOR (PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT)

Purpose of the Position:

To supervise a production team through, organizing, controlling and monitoring activities within organizational structures, production targets and company policies, in order to achieve maximum productivity, efficient human resourcesutilization and production of quality products.

Minimum Requirements:

• A relevant National Qualification (technical and/or production)
• 5 years supervisory experience in a production environment
• Good knowledge of production processes (preferably clay brick manufacturing)
• Drivers Licence and vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the supervision ofthe production department.
• Ensure that the production performance of the department is in accordance with the set goals (achieving production daily targets within normal working hours).
• The efficient management of resources in the sections under his or her control including human resources.
• Ensure that quality standards are adhered to.
• Control and manage waste; both green and final product waste.
• Realize raw material and production planning according to the plan as issued by the sales/dispatch department.
• Attend to basic maintenance / repairs in the department.
• Lead, motivate, train and develop a sustainable production team.
• Adhere to and ensure that all company policies are consistency being applied.
• Create a disciplined working environment by ensuring that correction action is taken consistently when required.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Requirements in the sections under his or her control.
• Responsible for housekeeping and safety within the production department.
• Work overtime as and when required.
