Role description:

Your key performance areas will be as follows:
• Assist with the migration to the latest version of trading system software
• Help with Solutions design
• Day to day management of our private cloud infrastructure
• Develop, deploy and manage highly-scalable and highly-available platforms, monitoring and maintaining service performance and availability metrics
• Manage the change-over to automation of deployments and monitoring
• R&D for innovative ways to increase performance on the platform and db's
• Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
• Assist with identifying potential security threats and complying with security compliance
• Stress, performance, availability and reliability tests to be carried out to highlight any areas of concern or potential bottlenecks
• Working closely with the Network dept and resolving any issues
• Assisting the team to migrate to best practice configuration management platform
• Close collaboration with Support, Development and Operations

Required Skills and experience:
• Strong troubleshooting skills, lateral thinking, Reverse engineering
• Storage - EMC / Netapp
• Virtualisation - Xen / Hyper-V / VMware
• Strong Linux administration: Ubuntu / Debian, RedHat / CentOS
• Advanced Windows administration: Windows Server - IIS - Active Directory - WMI - PowerShell - Clustering
• DBadmin: (advantage) Oracle, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, MSSql
• Web technologies: Apache / Ngnix - Squid - HAProxy - Mod_security - WebDAV - AJP Proxy - cgi scripting
• Administration, monitoring and optimization of JBoss / Tomcat / Jrun4 / Glassfish- Java application servers
• Monitoring systems - Cacti, Nagios, Splunk, Zabbix, Spiceworks, Zenoss,
• Strong knowledge of at least one of Python, Perl, PHP or shell scripting
• System Security compliance - Industry best practice, file integrity, Authentication auditing and logging,
• Experience with issue tracking ticketing systems - JIRA / Bugzilla / Ozticket
• Version Control - Git / SVN
• Configuration management tools - Chef / Puppet / Salt stack
• Documentation skills: using wiki to log changes, write procedures and instructions
• Network services - NFS - iSCSI - Samba - Ldap - DNS - rsync - Load Balancing ( ha proxy) - SSL off-load (nginix)
