Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Contermanskloof – Refinery/Richwood/Killarney
Salary: R18k per month

The primary responsibility of the Linux Systems Administrator is to provide support, monitoring and maintenance of Linux infrastructure, applications and servers for both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent certificate essential; Post Graduate qualification preferable.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Linux system administrator
Solid networking implementation and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written)

Duties:
Linux platform client support
User administration
Linux system administration
Password and identity management
Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot the infrastructure environment
Network Architecture Design and Implementation
Project Management
VOIP installation and support (Asterisk)
Feedback to Customers
New Business Development – Research & Development
Build, configuration and maintenance of standard Linux environments
Manage system updates, patching and releases
Modify operational configurations in response to changing needs
Create and modify configuration and other scripts.
Coordinate and execute repair activities.
Systems management
Work with development to field new infrastructure needs.
Manage vendor relationships and maintenance needs (e.g. certificates).
Configure physical systems as necessary
