Our client requires the service of a Livestock Manager to assists with supervising and coordinating activities regarding livestock in the stable yard.

Key performance areas:

? Productive and efficient personnel management
? Assign specific task to personnel (receive, inspect, medically treat and transfer livestock)
? Consult with veterinarians to ensure animal health is maintained
? Manage handling of livestock for transfer
? Thorough and accurate record keeping of livestock activities
? Maintain, manage and develop department budget
? Manage inventories by designing the inventory systems, researching costs, determining inventory levels, foresee needed supplies and improve orders
? Ensure safety and health standards are enforced
? Influence a positive workforce environment by following safety policies and modeling safe work practices
? Stay up to date on industry trends and technical knowledge
? Understand nutritional requirements for livestock

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a Agricultural diploma or degree in Animal production
? Min of 1-2 year’s experience in a similar role
? Good communications skills
? Excellent people management skills
? Must be able to use initiative to solve problems
? Good planning and organizational skills
