Top Manufacturing firm seeks Logistics and Inventory Manager - Grain. Manage the Supply of Bulk Grain Raw Materials to Manufacturing.

What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the Manufacturing sector. All duties would take place in this context.

Planning
* Work with internal team to determine the bulk raw materials requirements of the plant.
* Create a 12-week supply plan which will ensure these requirements are met
* Take into account supply availability, logistics considerations and costs

Freight
* Work with freight companies such as Transnet, and Major Road Transporters
* Ensure materials are delivered on time and at an economic cost
* Make sure that there are no delays due to logistics errors

Inventory Levels
* Ensure bulk materials inventory is at optimal levels
* Balance the costs and perishability of inventory vs the need for manufacturing to have raw material available
* Perform regular stock levels analysis

Disposal
* Dispose of waste raw materials and sub-par raw materials
* Sell sub-par raw materials to the cattle farming industry

Finance
* Manage large financial transactions
* Ensure invoices are correct
* Ensure that what is promised is delivered

Excel
* Utilise complex excel sheets for your planning
* Export data into SAP

Background work experience:

* 5+ Years Logistics and Supply Chain
* 2+ years Grain, Sugar or other Bulk Materials
* Supply Chain or Logistics Qualification
* Logistics and Supply Chain of Bulk Materials such as Grain
* Exceptional and Advanced Excel Skills - Very Complex Spreadsheets
* Knowledge of Logistics Suppliers such as Transnet
* Adv: Exposure to Manufacturers who use Bulk Materials
