Toyota SA Corporation is currently recruiting for the Logistics Engineer to work in Durban permanent.

Duties and Key Responsibilities :
Work closely with BD team to assist in costing all new, ad-hoc and existing contracts, to be operational sustainable and financially viable
Research, design and implement logistics systems and processes to improve new and current operational functions
Design and implement turn-key vehicle logistics solutions with a strong focus on the integration of People, Processes and Systems.
Engineer/Re-engineer Business Processes from a Cost Savings, Productivity Improvements, Headcount Reductions, Damage Reductions, Increased Profits, Increased Staff Adoption to Standardised Work and Adherence to Processes, Reduction of double handling and promotion of Lean Processes, Promote and Preserve Vehicle Quality, Sweat assets of the Company and its customers.
Mapping of Systemic and Operational Processes.
Integrating Systemic and Operational Processes to create highly optimised operational environments.
Creation of optimal Vehicle Storage Facility Layouts.
Working closely with Operations Department to stabilise problematic operations before handing over to back to Operations.
Developing reports and presentations for company and customer requirements.
Implement new contracts/services/sites.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives
3. Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures and assist in communicating these to staff
Integrating People, Process and Systems to provide a premium vehicle logistics solution to customers.
Encourage optimal use of VMotion.
Staff training.
Developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Proven ability to create, analyse and improve business, operational and systemic processe

Education/Requirements:
Higher Diploma or Degree in Engineering; Business; Vehicle Logistics or Transport
At least 5 years working in experience in a vehicle logistic engineering field.
Must be computer literate at an advanced level (Full MS Office Suite, CAD, ERP Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, Supply Chain Management Systems).
Strong organisational, planning, analytical and leadership skills
Must be methodical and process driven
Ability to liaise with clients at tactical level
