Our Client, an established manufacturer in the steel and aluminium industry, based in Richards Bay, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager.

Requirements:

BBA/Btech Engineering degree
Extensive experience in SAP with manufacturing software
Minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity
Minimum of 4 years in purchasing logistics
Experienced in ISO9001
Excellent interpersonal communication skills – verbal and written
Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
Results/target driven
Leadership skills focusing on the development and implementing of new business techniques and training
The ability to plan and manage in sourcing, procurement, conversion and all logistics management activities
The ability to grow within and with the Company
Proven track record with contactable land line references.

Key Performance Areas:

Ensures that the current best practices are being adhered to while working across the units and cross functional areas to drive process improvements, optimize IT investments while developing future capabilities and continues to build and grow the knowledge within the organization.
Performing root cause analysis, Identify opportunities for improvement and develop new processes to eliminate waste by using Lean techniques.
Actively engage the global community of Logistics Experts, Business Process Owners, Template Teams, GSM and regional / unit Key Users.
Providing in-depth application knowledge and understanding, work closely with Key Users and relevant support teams.
Ensure Key Users and Associates are trained and have a clear understanding of business processes, practices and proper system usage.
