Logistics/Stock Manager

Our client a leading high commodity trading company seeks to appoint a Logistics Manager who will be responsible for the control of all stock movements of a high value commodity within South Africa and Europe. The successful incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior logistics role as this position will form part of the senior management team.

Requirements:
• B.Comm Logistics or Logistics qualification will be advantageous.
• Supply Chain & Stock Management Course/Qualification will be advantageous.
• Experience with systems and processing, stock management, risk management, dealing with high value products.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a logistics management capacity.
• People management experience.
• Must be deadline driven.
• Excellent customer relationship skills.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the entire logistics process in line with Company Standards.
• Ensuring that both internal and external customers are satisfied with the service received.
• Ensuring that all customers receive on time deliveries.
• Managing the Drivers and vehicles.
• Managing high value cargo and taking the necessary pre-caution from a security point of view.
• Cost Estimations and Freight Calculations.
• Liaising with various Freight companies/forwarders.
• Responsible for managing logistics team.
• Responsible for all exports (Local and Europe).
• Assisting in preparation of shipment cost estimates.
• Ensure customs and airline documents is accurately prepared, cargo bookings, incoming documents, adhere to companies policy on use of preferred suppliers.
• Ensure clear and effective communication with clients and overseas office I agents keeping them informed of progress, delays and problems, timeously obtain and I dispatch pre-alerts.
• Attend to shipments involving short-shipments, damages and losses.
• Reconciliations and prepare Invoice check list and ensure Invoices are accurately prepared.
• Responsible for all export administration, ensuring all documents are completed correctly.
• Ensuring all daily targets are met.
• Ensuring inventory accuracy at all times.
• Responsible for overseeing dispatch planning and on time delivery to both internal and external customers entire shipment process (Inbound and Outbound) co-ordinate inbound deliveries.
• Setting up of checklists and ensuring adherence to it.
• Responsible for receiving and dispatching I distribution ensuring all productivity reports are compiled and updated on a daily basis.
• Responsible for communicating with all customers local and abroad regarding status of shipments.
• Ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
• Controlling all forwarding and estimates/quotations to customers ensuring that all procedures and processes are followed.
