Logistics / Warehouse Manager [Ref: 999]
Our client in the Cape Winelands region is in need of a Logistics / Warehouse Manager.

Salary: Negotiable
Job Type: Permanent
Key Requirements:

DUTIES
Distribution
-Meets deadlines and Service Level Agreements by ensuring all agreed procedures and policies are strictly adhered to.
-Resolves customer complaints and answer customer questions regarding policies and procedures.
-Liaises and negotiates with customers and suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness and optimal container usage. (freight rates with various shipping lines)
-Develops business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
-Ensures optimal budgeting, cost control and forecasting to meet strategic objectives.

Administration Processes
-Develops and implements systems to ensure accurate documentation is processed within stipulated deadlines
-Checks documentation to ensure capturing and recording of accurate information pertaining to the performance of the logistics operation
-Investigates all problem areas and takes corrective action to avoid future reoccurrence

Warehousing - Finished Goods
-Monitors the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods
-Ensures structures and systems are in place to monitor the flow of goods.
-Ensures maximum utilization of storage space adhering to quality and safety standards

Dry Goods Sourcing and Stock Holding
-Oversees dry goods sourcing and stock holding ensuring stock accuracy and availability to meet production demands.
-Ensures an accurate and updated system of recording all stock movements
-Ensures procedures are in place to control stacking, storing and movement of stock
-Ensures stock levels with suppliers are maintained within agreed specified minimum levels.

Stock Control
-Ensures all stock movements are processed and recorded on a daily basis
-Ensures weekly / monthly stock counts are carried out according to company procedures
-Ensures stock variances are addressed and resolved after each stock count
-Controls the disposing of obsolete / redundant stock
-Ensures procedures are in place to control shrinkage of stock

People Management
-Manages the work of employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines and proper procedures and takes the necessary action to correct any errors or problems where required.

REQUIREMENTS
-Logistics / Warehousing and transport knowledge in the wine industry
-Dry Goods Stores and Stock Control knowledge
-Planning, administration and organising skills
-Computer literacy (MS Outlook/Word/Excel), Ezy Wine Experience an advantage
-Good interpersonal and communication skills
-Analytical and Creative problem solving skills
-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

The successful applicant must have
-Management experience in a similar environment
-Experience in the wine making industry
-Experience in the FMCG environment would be an advantage
